Who can join

Students across Columbia University

BSIF is open to students from Columbia College, Columbia Engineering, Barnard College, the School of General Studies, and graduate students, and neither your major nor your current level of investing knowledge determines whether you can participate.

The process

Four steps to get involved

01

Complete the interest form

Tell us how to reach you and upload a résumé, which helps us track participants and organize teams rather than serving as a competitive screening device.

02

Come to a meeting

You are welcome at open meetings even if you have not completed the form yet, so come by, ask questions, and get a feel for the community.

03

Get connected

After you submit, a member of the team can follow up with meeting information and help connect you to the email list and Slack.

04

Join a team

To participate on an investment team, submit your résumé and stay engaged, since consistent participation matters more than prior experience.

Good to know

Can I attend before applying?

Yes, open meetings are available even if you have not submitted the form or résumé yet.

Do I need investing experience?

No, BSIF is designed to help students learn from the beginning and continue developing technical skills over time.

Why submit a résumé?

It gives the club a consistent way to keep track of participants and organize investment teams, while its contents are not used as a pass or fail test.
